Why Convalo?
A number of people have asked me about the name of my company - where did it come from and what does it mean? When I was trying to think of an appropriate name, I wanted something that captured the idea behind professional development coaching and consulting that was designed to help people and companies develop and improve. Also, I took 2 years of Latin in high school and 1 year in college, so I have an affinity toward the language. I have not done anything to keep up my translation skills, but it has some personal l connection to my education.
So, I spent some time entering a number of words that had meanings like thriving, succeeding, and growing into an English to Latin translator. Then I ran the options by my wife and looked to see what came up in google with the name. Convalo is Latin for "grow stronger" or "thrive". Convalo is also used for a behavioral health company in California, but I figured that was different enough that no one would be confused. It also got the thumbs up from Tracy who has a better sense of style and taste than I do. So that is how Convalo LLC was born. Now the goal it make it live up to its name in the word that I do!
